Unfortunately, there are no settings because this is not supported.

I will probably include support in a future version of V, but I can't see it happening any time soon.

When viewing big files, say 300MB to 2GB in size, there will be a delay between 'Open' and then seeing the contents. There shouldn't be much of a delay - at least no more than a second or two.
