
If V beeps every time you click on an entry in the directory listing, you will need to use the
Registry Editor (REGEDIT) to delete the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\CCSelect\.Current

To fix the problem, you can either follow the instructions in the above article, or you can download the
following file (BeepFix.reg):
Download BeepFix.reg
(right-click on the above link and select Save Target As or Save Link As)
To apply the fix, you can either double-click on BeepFix.reg in Windows Explorer, or select BeepFix.reg in V
and then select Execute/Run from the File menu (or the toolbar). Vista will then display the following message - click
Yes to make the necessary change to the Registry.
The following message will be displayed once the fix has been applied
"When you're green, you grow. When you're ripe, you rot."
