V - Vista Beep

If V beeps every time you click on an entry in the directory listing, you will need to use the Registry Editor (REGEDIT) to delete the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\CCSelect\.Current

To fix the problem, you can either follow the instructions in the above article, or you can download the following file (BeepFix.reg):

Download BeepFix.reg
(right-click on the above link and select Save Target As or Save Link As)

To apply the fix, you can either double-click on BeepFix.reg in Windows Explorer, or select BeepFix.reg in V and then select Execute/Run from the File menu (or the toolbar). Vista will then display the following message - click Yes to make the necessary change to the Registry.
