How do you set GridLines to recognize commas?

How do you set gridlines to recognize comma separation (or other delimiters for that matter)?
Unfortunately, you can't.How do you set gridlines to recognize comma separation?
GridLines are really only useful for files with fixed length records - where each field begins at the same column position.
