Use Existing File Window option doesn't work

Postby vuser » Sun May 02, 2010 8:28 pm

Recently I upgraded V to version 10 and it seems that the option "Use existing File window to view new file" when check is not been
honored, a new window is still opened.

Use Existing File Window option doesn't work

I have just tried this option - and it does seem to work.

Note that the option means that if you are currently viewing a file and go to view a second file, the second file uses the same window as the
first file, instead of opening a second file window.

This option *does not* mean that when you view a file, the directory listing disappears and only the file window remains visible.

This is what used to be called CLASSIC mode - where V would only ever have one window visible - either a directory listing *or* a file window.

CLASSIC mode is no longer available in V10, however, you can achieve the same effect by enabling "Hide Directory when Viewing Files" in the "Directory Options" tab of Preferences.

Let me know if this doesn't address your problem.

Regards,
Charles.
