V not seeing mapped network drives

Postby vuser » Thu Oct 13, 2016 7:25 pm

Are you aware that mapped network drives no longer work?

Now, when you map drives, not only do they not appear in the drop-down drives dialog, but entering
the path in the “directory” window, results in an error.

You are probably running V as an Administrator. If you are, this is a known problem.

If you create a network share with standard user privileges, the share is unavailable to programs running with elevated privileges (and vice versa).

The solution is to simply remap the network drive in an elevated process. The simplest way is to select “Map Network Drive” from the V Tools menu and remap the drive (while V is running as Admin).
