Re: Deleting file which V has open
Is it possible to keep V from watching the file and reloading it if there are changes? As Ron said, no. Not much of a prompt, eh! That's silly. What if I don't want it reloaded? You don't have an option. The file you are viewing has changed. The data you were previously viewing no longer exists (or...

Re: Deleting file which V has open
Apparently, other apps are allowed to delete a file while V has it opened. Is that by design? Yes. As V is a viewer only , it does not lock the file while it is viewing it. If it did, files would not be able to be modified while V was viewing them. This would be a problem when viewing some log file...

Re: Assigning F7 to a user command
Although I removed F7's association with "move file" I cannot assign it to a user command. Is that to be expected? No. Unfortunately, this is a bug - which will be fixed in the next release. Although I thought I had deleted it, in "List of Keys" F7 (MoveFile) still has an "...

Re: V12 Preview 1
Really like the new Options multi pane navigation, very nice and easy to use.
Thanks. I don't think it is very pretty, but it is easier to find what you are looking for.

Re: Why is ES option available in GREP tab?
However, since ES is a file search and not a file grep, I am confused about why the checkbox appears on the grep tab also? Even when doing a GREP, you still need to find the files before you can search them. With the ES checkbox enabled, V asks ES to give it the list of matching files to search. If...

Command Line Search
You can now initiate a V search (GREP) from the command line. Note that the search results are displayed in V - not on the command line. If you want the results displayed on the command line, I suggest you either use Windows' FINDSTR command and/or GNU Grep : http://www.gnu.org/software/grep/ All co...

Would you like to see a new feature?
V has been in development since 1996 and much of its functionality has been driven by feedback from users. If you would like to see a new feature in V , or would like to see a current feature expanded, please ask for it in this forum. Sometimes, it can take a long time for me to do something, but I...
