Just moved to my 6 yr old Sony notebook after shutting down my old desktop PC. Attempted to plug in my digital camera via USB cable. V doesn't read/recognize it. This was never a problem with the desktop PC (everything WinXp SP3). Windows Explorer DOES see the camera and I was able to copy images to the hard drive.
I just d/l'd 2 other dual pane file managers (FreeCommander and NexusFIle) and they have the same problem, don't see the camera.
The "Safely Remove Hardware" tool doesn't recognize the camera either.
I'm so-o-o-o confused! Why is it that only Explorer sees the camera, and nothing else? And can this be fixed? (I can plug-in a card reader, but that's lot's of extra steps. And I love my FileViewer, spoiled forever.)

Unfortunately, V only supports disk drive devices (something that you can assign a drive letter to) - it does not support generic devices (like cameras).
I may address this in a future version of V - but that won't be happening any time soon.
