Re: Use Existing File Window option doesn't work

Use Existing File Window option doesn't work I have just tried this option - and it does seem to work. Note that the option means that if you are currently viewing a file and go to view a second file, the second file uses the same window as the first file, instead of opening a second file window. T...

Re: Classic Mode is no longer working

I want to use it in 'Classic' mode, one window.

"Classic" mode was removed in V10.

However, similar behavior can be achieved by enabling "Hide Directory when viewing files" in the Directory Options tab of Preferences

Charles.

Re: Problem with multiple file masks

*_x.sql,!*_comp_* No. As you have found out, this will not work. Multiple file masks will (usually) display files that match any of the masks. In the above example, .bak files will match !*_comp_*, so they will be displayed. But if I reverse the order of the masks ( !*_comp_*,*_x.sql ) V does exact...

Re: How can I resize the File Mask box?

but there is no apparent way to DOWN-size it

There is no way to manually resize the mask field - however, you can delete a long mask by selecting it, right-clicking on the drop down arrow next to
it and selecting "Delete this Entry". This should cause the mask to resize.

Re: Can I use V to view the output of a User Command?

I'm trying to integrate a user command into V, such that the output from the command appears in V itself. Unfortunately, there is no option in V to capture the output of a User Command and display it. However, you could do the following: Create a .BAT file which calls your command ( strings ) and p...

Re: User Commands not working in Dual Pane Mode

Yesterday I was in dual pane and tried to select two files , one in each pane, and pass the files to a User Command User Commands are usually only executed on the "current" pane. For them to work on files in *both* panes, you will need to create a separate User Command and use the %1F and...

Re: Can V search the contents of ZIP files?

Does V allow you to search for files with specific content within archive or Zip files? Yes it does. There is a "Search Inside Archives" option which will search all supported archives (ZIP, RAR, CAB, TAR, GZip, BZip2). Note that ZIP files inside ZIP files will not be searched - nor will ...

Re: The Match Case search option is always enabled!

However, after I exit V and then restart it, the "Match Case" option has gone back to being checked. I am guessing that you are using the \ key to initiate the search. This was added in V8 to easily allow you to toggle the case on a search. That is, using the / key would do a caseless sea...
