Re: network shares

window's explorer lets me type in the path box a network share name, ie \\foobar You have always been able to use a network path in V. V15 added support for password prompting if authentication is required. Note that you must enter a complete network path - not just a computer name. For example, yo...

Re: Stress testing V

Counting particular instances of a search phrase I gave up after around 26% searching as it took too long Unfortunately, searching a 128GB file takes time. There is not much I can do to speed this up (short of indexing the file). Using the goto command to return to the last number -1 again I gave u...

Re: Selecting a grid

For both records I have created a grid file. Normally those are meant to be in separate files, however sometime they are in one single file. Re: Tabs and Favorites

While working in the new tab, I click on Favorites, then click on c:\data. V immediately goes to the 1st instance of c:\data instead of opening c:\data in the new tab. This is a feature - not a bug! I'm not sure why I did this. Either someone requested it or I thought it was a good idea at the time...

Re: network shares

if it exists it will try to display shared info and it might prompt for a userid/password to that system

I hope to do this in the next release (V15) which will be available by the end of the year.

I will send you a beta version to try when it is available.

Re: About the crippling of the demo mode...

I can't tell you how angry your "demo mode" is making me.

Sorry to hear that. If you are still interested in evaluating the program, I have sent you a code which will temporarily register you for 2 weeks.
