The fourth service release of Version 15 is now available on the Downloads page. SR4 fixes the following problems: ⋅ Could not extract contents of ZIP files if the resultant path names were longer than 256 characters ⋅ Custom EOL was not working in EBCDIC mode ⋅ The EBC...

Re: V not seeing mapped network drives

You are probably running V as an Administrator. If you are, this is a known problem. If you create a network share with standard user privileges, the share is unavailable to programs running with elevated privileges (and vice versa). The solution is to simply remap the network drive in an elevated p...

Re: Lost without V

Dont suppose you have considered making a Mac version?

No, I haven't :(

I am a Windows programmer, so V will always remain a Windows program

Re: Possible bug in tail function

It would appear that if I minimize this window for some time and then restore it, the viewer window is frozen (i.e. no longer updated) at the same point it was at when the window was minimized. I haven't been able to reproduce this. When I minimize a file that is still being updated and then restor...

Re: file copy from a network drive to C or D and vice versa

I have read in the documentation of V, that V supports lettered directories and any directory identified under "computer" and "network". V only supports network drives (which contain a file system). The Blackberry must be configured as a device . Network printers sometimes show ...

Re: file copy from a network drive to C or D and vice versa

What settings should be in place both for the PC and V to make this happen

Unfortunately, there are no settings because this is not supported.

I will probably include support in a future version of V, but I can't see it happening any time soon.

Re: Threaded reading and displaying

When viewing big files, say 300MB to 2GB in size, there will be a delay between 'Open' and then seeing the contents. There shouldn't be much of a delay - at least no more than a second or two. If you find that the delay is noticeable, make sure that File Chunks are enabled (in the More Options sect...

Re: Refresh Directory not working on network folder

i have found this occurs because of a setting on the server, and it is not a problem in V.

Thanks for letting me know.

I couldn't reproduce the problem and was going to suggest it was either a Windows bug or a configuration issue.

Re: Version files & V settings backup

Any reason not to delete these? These are kept so you can roll back to a previous version. You can delete them if you don't want to do this. Part of my backup process is saving program settings There is no reason why VClone will not work under Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. To backup the V settings you...
