As from September 1 2005, users of Version 7.2 who have been using V for over 6 years will receive a Your FREE upgrades have expired error message.

This message is due to a bug in the program - users do not need to upgrade.

New Upgrade Policy
A new upgrade policy was introduced in V 7.2.

Registered users are entitled to free upgrades for 6 years. After 6 years, they need to upgrade in order to use any new versions. They do not need to upgrade to continue using their current version.

The new upgrade policy does not come into effect until the next major release (Version 8) which should be available in Q3 2006. There is no need to upgrade before then - even if the About Box displays that your free upgrades have expired.

To remove the error message, please download v72sr2.zip and replace your current V.EXE.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

Note that this problem only applies to users of Version 7.2. If you are getting an expired message when using Version 8, it probably means that your free upgrades have expired and that you need to upgrade to continue using Version 8. You will not need to upgrade to continue using Version 7.2.
